Jovine under contract

Last month, Jovine Okoth signed a contract to formally be employed by Stichting Shirati, dedicating his time to conducting the Bonesetter Project. Having been born and raised in Shirati, his local network, knowledge of the local language and social skills are invaluable to our work, which heavily relies on efficient communication. So far, he has moderated two focus group discussions, conducted 21 interviews with bonesetters and other stakeholders, and is now putting everything we’ve been told on paper. Stichting Shirati is committed to ensuring the sustainability of our projects through local collaboration, so we would like to extend our thanks to the Dutch Albert Schweitzer Foundation, for enabling Jovine to work with us, through the funds earned with the Albert Schweitzer Prize 2022!
