A job well done

Last month, the Delft Ultra, the portable X-ray machine, arrived in Shirati, marking the commencement of our household survey. The objective was to answer the question, “How often do bone fractures occur per year, and what treatment choices are made?” Our survey team, consisting of 15 women from Shirati, visited 498 households in the vicinity for this purpose. After interviewing 1446 people in one month, they could finally put down their pens and take a break yesterday!
Now, our own work begins, using the Delft Ultra to examine patients suspected of having a bone fracture in the past year. With this portable device, individuals no longer need to undertake a challenging journey to the hospital; they can receive assistance in the comfort of their homes. All of this has been made possible by our partners at Delft Imaging!
