Outreach in Sota
A large quantity of additional praziquantel tablets has become available from the District Medical Officer. Therefore, we decided to organize an additional outreach. It was held near the hospital but close to Lake Victoria in the village of Sota. By collaborating with the BMU (Beach Management Unit, representatives of the fishermen), we were able to set up the outreach in a strategically convenient location: centrally located and close to the fishermen themselves. We managed to assist 396 people! Additionally, we provided training to the BMU officers in collaboration with Maji Safi on schistosomiasis, with the hope that people will seek treatment more promptly.
We look back on a successful outreach and plan to return to Sota in January!
