The challenges of a broken peanut grinder
The past couple of months our peanut grinder has been showing more and more signs of technical problems. The locally-produced and improvised peanut grinder from Mwanza has been essential in increasing and professionalizing our production. Unfortunately, it is slowly falling apart. Jammed bearings, because of the leaking of peanut butter, have been replaced a few times by our always cheerful handyman Abdallah.
However, recently the engine broke down, causing a two-week break in our production and a desperate Abdallah. Luckily, we had enough reserves to bridge this period and because of Abdallah’s efforts the engine was running once again. This week though, the era of our beloved machine definitely ended and the production has come to a halt. The hunt for a good replacement has started. Any support in helping us obtain a new peanut grinder is welcome.
