Welcome to our Nutrition Team!

Discover the dedicated professionals behind our nutrition initiatives:

Stella Makori is a passionate nutritionist at Shirati KMT Hospital and the local project leader of the Shirati Peanut Project and Shirati Food Program. Hailing from Shirati, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition in Morogoro. Eager to be close to her family, Stella returned to Shirati and began her journey as a volunteer nutritionist at Shirati KMT Hospital. Faced with the challenge of treating malnourished children due to the unavailability of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), Stella conceptualized the idea of local RUTF production, leading to the inception of the Shirati Peanut Project in 2021. Stella has been at the helm of this impactful project since its inception.

Aurelia (Joined in Summer 2023), a nutritionist from Simiyu, brings her expertise to our team. With a degree in Human Nutrition, she has previously worked with various governmental and non-governmental organizations. Aurelia is grateful to contribute to the well-being of malnourished children in Shirati while also enhancing food security through education and support.

Ismael (Join in Summer 2023), a nutritionist from Bukoba (Missenyi), near the Tanzania-Uganda border, is another valuable addition to our team. Holding a degree in Human Nutrition, Ismael volunteered with different governmental and non-governmental organizations before joining us. He finds joy in working with the team and is committed to the meaningful work of improving the lives of malnourished children.

Together, our nutrition team is dedicated to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the community in Shirati.
